Water Budgets are based on the amount of water required to keep lawns green. Landscape beds with trees and shrubs require approximately 30% less irrigation. Note, however, in most cases established trees and shrubs need little or no supplemental water during the dry season.
Your Water Budget is based on yearly weather averages and does not factor in rainfall. To switch your system off when it rains, contact an irrigation contractor to install a Rain Sensor. Some water utilities provide rebates for Rain Sensors. To see if you qualify, go to: savingwater.org.
