Step 1 EITHER:

Enter the square feet of landscape area watered with an in-ground automatic sprinkler system:

* such as house, driveway, established trees and shrubs that don't need supplemental water

Step 2 Select your billing cycle:

NOTE: Many utilities have multiple water rates during the irrigation season. Enter the average rate you paid per CCF.

The square feet of the property must be greater than the square feet of non-watered areas.

Notes:

The Basic Water Budget is only an estimate. Because some customers pay tiered rates during the summer, your actual budget may vary. For a more detailed Water Budget, consult a landscape irrigation professional.
Water Budgets are based on the amount of water required to keep lawns green. Landscape beds with trees and shrubs require approximately 30% less irrigation. Note, however, in most cases established trees and shrubs need little or no supplemental water during the dry season.
Your Water Budget is based on yearly weather averages and does not factor in rainfall. To switch your system off when it rains, contact an irrigation contractor to install a Rain Sensor. Some water utilities provide rebates for Rain Sensors. To see if you qualify, go to: savingwater.org.
